For Papa

I know you will relate to the song written by Billy Cyrus for his daughter, Miley.

Wise or Intelligent: Which would you rather be?

One of my favorite Bible stories is about King Solomon and the two mothers claiming for the same baby. Since God has blessed King Solomon with wisdom, he was able to identify the real mother from the false one. How? He tested the two women by telling them he would just tore the baby into 2 pieces so he can give each of them a half. Of course, being the real mother, one of them pleaded him not to do so and instead give it to the other one claiming the boy (who, by the way, agreed to King Solomon’s statement about cutting the boy in half). What does this story prove?

Most of us are fortunate enough to attend school. Some of us even had the chance to be in one of the most prestigious academies per say. We have been taught about language, science, mathematics, literature, arts and other things that can be put into good use as we grow older. Yes, I agree that good schools can provide us all of the knowledge that we need in the future, but does attending school alone make us wise? One can be so good in math or science, but doesn’t even know how to deal with simple things such as peer pressure; he can have achieved all the academic goals that he had set for himself, but can’t even have control over his own life, and instead let other people influence him and transformed him into one of them, he can’t even make decisions on his own, seeking advices from those who can ruin him. They even included good manners and right conduct into our curriculum from grade school until we finished senior high school, but not all of us have learned to respect our neighbors, or be polite to our elderly. Thus, I don’t believe that being in the best school there is in town is enough; there are those who didn’t even finish college but are able to withstand these affecting factors, can make logical decisions on their own, and know what is right from wrong, doesn’t listen to those who can’t even straighten out their acts. Yes, academic classes aren’t sufficient; one has to use his common sense that has been sharpened by life experiences.

So I’d rather be wise than be book-smart. These are just my thoughts.

Time to laugh

After months of searching thru Google, I have finally found the link to these 2 videos featuring Will Ferrell and a baby named Pearl, playing 2 different adult roles. These videos can prove that babies these days are very witty and are fast learners, so fast that you can't believe that they are talking like grown ups at their age, in a cutie kind of way of course. Well, I hope you enjoy.

Pearl as Will Ferrell's Landlord:

The Landlord

Pearl as a Baby Cop interrogating Will:

Good Cop, Baby Cop

Bored to death

I am so bored. Things didn't go that well at work. Sometimes, even though we have found the right thing for us, it can just slip away from our fingertips in an instant, without any signs that we are about to lose it. Damn! If it weren't for their greediness, this wouldn't have happened.

Anyway, my husband had these constant complaints about me being a computer addict, with the internet to be precised. I have been staying at home for few days now, and there is nothing to do, other than watching television, so I am left here with no choice but to kill time by getting online and see if there are any exciting news about my friends. How I wish we could go out of town for the holiday, but saving money is our no.1 priority during these rainy days.

Welcoming Gavin Mateo Hajas

Yesterday was Chi's baby shower courtesy of her former co-worker and good friend, Jen. Chi knew all along that she has been planning, together with Chi's sister, Sheryll, a party for her, but never realized it will be held at Jen's place and never knew when. Jen prepared most of the food and set some games for us to have fun. There was a game where we have to guess what chocolate was in the diaper, guessing how big Chi's tummy is(I won!), and dressing someone with tissue paper to look like an infant. We had so much fun, especially the mom-to-be. Thanks Jen for organizing this party. And to Chi, good luck with your second baby.

Here are some of the pictures taken:
